Fiona
Stuart-Wilson leads the dentistry team. She is a Director of
UMD Professional and an experienced senior manager within both the
public and private sectors. She has worked with a large number of
dental practices around the UK over the last fourteen years, and
is an experienced trainer and facilitator, assisting more than 200
practices in achieving the Investors in People standard. She developed the "Hands-on Management Programme"
which has achieved wide acclaim from dental practices and Business
Links around the UK, and specialises in strategic management and
marketing in the dental practice. She was for eleven years Associate
Editor of the BDJ and series editor of the Better Dental Business
book series. She is also the author of many articles on dental business
management and a book on marketing in dental practice. She has spoken
widely at conferences in the UK and internationally on dental business. |

Phillip
Cannell qualified as a dentist at University College Hospital,
and gained his MFGDP (UK) in 2002. He is a partner in a large practice
in Essex, which has won several awards including Investors in People
recognition, "Best Dental Team Support Programme" at the
Probe Dental Awards in 2000 and "Denplan Practice Team of the
Year Award" in 2001. He is an associate management consultant
with UMD Professional Ltd, where he has used his considerable management
and training experience to help to introduce business management
skills to many dental practices around the UK. He is also clinical
governance tutor at the Eastern Deanery, and has published business
articles in the British Dental Journal and the Probe. |

Martin
Ashley qualified at Guy's Hospital and, after serving in the
Royal Army Dental Corps, established in 1977 his own dental practice
in Bedford which provides specialist dental services. He has been
active within the British Dental Association for many years at local
and national level. He was a member of the North Beds Health Authority
from 1985-1990, and it was during this period that he became particularly
interested in the issues involved in business management and training.
He was appointed an Associate Editor of the British Dental Journal
in 2002. |

Mansoor
Qureshi is a partner in a large mixed dental practice in South
Ockendon, Essex. He is Secretary of the South Essex section of the
British Dental Association and the B.D.A. Representative Body Member
for Essex. In January 2000 his practice was recognised as an Investor
in People. He has a keen interest in dental business management
and now presents a large number of Hands-on management workshops
for UMD Professional. He combines a practical management approach
based on real experience with a clear understanding of the key issues
facing the profession and individual practices. |

Sandy
Horvath has extensive practical senior management experience,
and hands-on training experience gained within the police service
and other private and public sector organisations. He has been working
with dental practices for the last three years in the arenas of
communications and people management, and has developed a unique
workshop on dealing with difficult and potentially violent situations,
in response to requests from health care practices around the UK.
He has authored a wide range of training and development programmes,
and is in demand for his communications and assertiveness workshops.
A qualified trainer of trainers, for the past eleven years he has
trained in mediation, conciliation, counselling skills, and interviewing
techniques, and dental teams around the country have benefited from
his considerable training skills and practical experience in people
management. |

John Shepherd is an experienced trainer and facilitator with significant senior management experience across a range of sectors. He has worked with a large number of dental practices across the UK over the last five years and specialises in strategy and people management issues. |
