The UMD Professional Mentoring Programme gives professionals the opportunity to develop themselves personally and to develop their practices further by embarking on a structured formal mentoring programme.

Mentoring provides coaching, guidance and advice on a one-to-one basis, helping the professional set new goals, broaden his or her vision and crystallize strategies for the future. Mentoring also helps develop personal management skills such as creative thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, time management and effective use of resources.

UMD Professional mentors offer a depth of management experience and an insightful approach to the challenges of professional practice which will allow you to develop your management skills and knowledge for the benefit of your business as it moves into the future.

The UMD Professional Mentoring Programme is based around personal contact through one-to-one visits, telephone contact and e-mail. Different levels are available enabling you to select the option the most suitable to you:

Platinum Level: this is the top level for professionals wanting to take full advantage of the mentoring process. Platinum mentoring provides:
1. Monthly visits (2 hours per visit)
2. Telephone and e-mail contact (up to 2 hours per month)
3. Access to each visit for up to 2 partners per practice/group of practices

Gold Level: this level is for professionals who require less one-to-one contact but wish for regular contact to ensure they obtain maximum value from the programme. Gold mentoring provides:
1. Visits every two months (2 hours per visit)
2. Telephone and e-mail contact (up to 1 hour per month)
3. Access only available for one person per practice/group of practices.

Silver Level: this is the basic level of mentoring for those professionals who would prefer less frequent contact. Silver Mentoring provides:
1. Quarterly visits (2 hours per visit)
2. Telephone and e-mail contact (maximum 1 hour per month)
3. Access only available for one person per practice/group of practices.

The UMD Professional Mentoring Programme is an annual programme, with a break clause after 6 months in the first year. This enables participants to terminate their agreement if they wish after 6 months from commencement.
