Fiona Stuart-Wilson Fiona Stuart-Wilson is Managing Director of UMD Professional and an experienced senior manager within both the public and private sectors. She has worked with a large number of practices over the last fourteen years, and is an experienced trainer and facilitator, specialising in strategic management and marketing. She was for eleven years Associate Editor of a major scientific journal and series editor of a management book series. She has spoken widely at conferences in the UK and internationally on business.
Roger Lilley Roger Lilley is a highly experienced manager who worked for many years for one of the UK's largest companies, covering a range of senior management roles in Sales, Business Development and International Marketing. He provides sales and marketing consultancy to a variety of businesses and is one of the tutors on UMD Professional's ILM management qualification courses.
Mansoor Qureshi Mansoor Qureshi is a partner in a large professional practice in South Ockendon, Essex. He has a keen interest in business and professional practice management and now presents a large number of Hands-on management workshops for UMD Professional. He combines a practical management approach based on real experience with a clear understanding of the key issues facing the professions and individual practices.
John Shepherd John Shepherd is an experienced trainer and facilitator with significant senior management experience across a range of sectors. He has worked with a practices across the UK and internationally over the last five years and specialises in strategy, finance and people management issues.
Sandy Horvath Sandy Horvath has extensive practical senior management experience, and hands-on training experience gained within the police service and other private and public sector organisations. He has been working with professional practices for the last ten years in the arenas of communications and people management, and has developed a unique workshop on dealing with difficult and potentially violent situations. He has authored a wide range of training and development programmes, and is in demand for his communications, mediation and assertiveness workshops.
Sheila Scott Sheila Scott is a highly experienced trainer and coach who has worked with a range of professional practices across the UK over the last 20 years. Her specialisations are strategic planning and marketing and she provides practical hands-on advice on the implementation of marketing strategies.
Emma John Emma John has worked in a variety of roles in the dental profession for over 20 years. She became a practice manager whilst in the Royal Air Force in 1990 and currently owns an award-winning practice in Devon, as well as providing training and mentoring to practice and business managers around the UK.
Ian Barras-Hill Ian Barras-Hill is a highly experienced senior manager who combines an impressive background in international marketing with extensive consulting expertise in management and marketing, with a specialist interest in the professions and professional firms. As well as providing marketing consultancy Ian also acts as an assessor for the senior Institute of Leadership and Management qualifications.
Julia Pearson Julia Pearson is an experienced Business Development Manager and Project Manager with a wealth of management experience gained in both the private and public sectors with a strong track record of putting strategy into action. She has worked with a wide range of businesses including many small firms and professional practices and brings particular expertise to business development and marketing projects.
Nigel Fenton Nigel Fenton began his career working for a major trade association, supporting UK companies in the development of standards for electronic business communications. He then spent many years working for a multinational FMCG manufacturer, and leading a team which developed best in class processes for managing change. More recently he has provided consultancy support and training on business processes and acts as an assessor for ILM qualifications.
Sue James Sue James has significant strategic and project management experience, working within highly competitive business environments. She has demonstrated great success in leading complex new product launches, and has extensive hands-on team management and quality improvement experience.
Martin Ashley Martin Ashley started his career in the Services and established his own practice in 1977. He has a particular interest in the development of the role of practice managers and sits on the Institute of Leadership and Management committee. He was a member of his local health authority from 1985 - 1990 and retains a keen interest in strategic issues.
Peter Warner Peter Warner is a solicitor admitted to practice in 1985 with a wealth of consultancy, training and management experience. He joined a major law network in 1992 where he was responsible for the planning, co-ordination and implementation of business reviews and consultancy projects for practices ranging in size from four to sixty five partners. His recent work includes various quality and performance improvement initiatives such as Investors in People. ISO 9000, Lexcel, Legal Aid Franchising, Barmark, Risk Management, Practice Excellence, Business Planning, Marketing Strategy and Change Management.
Annie Walker Annie Walker is our ILM Distance Learning assignment administrator and joins us after careers in the Services and international events management. She is responsible for ensuring the despatch of the hundreds of assignments we receive for marking and verification and their return to candidates.
