The Dental Business Management Programme

This popular course is one of the most comprehensive business management courses available in dentistry offering up to 84 hours verifiable CPD, and is a blend of six workshops held quarterly over an eighteen month period, with monthly webinars and support from your own experienced management mentor.

This is a stand alone course but participants can also opt to take ILM Level 7 Diploma in Leadership and Management through the completion of a series of practice-based assignments. The programme includes an extensive reference manual and practical business templates, which are downloaded from our website.

The Strategic Leadership Programme

The UMD Professional Strategic Leadership course has been designed to encourage dentists and senior managers in dentistry to think differently and more deeply about leadership and most importantly to be able to apply appropriate and effective leadership skills and re-energise their teams and their practices.

This three weekend course provides an environment where you can explore different leadership models and practices, take time out of practice to reflect, and work out the best ways for you to lead and strengthen your dental organisation in today’s changing environment.

This course provides a framework of understanding and knowledge about leadership but even more importantly looks at ways to capitalise on not just knowledge and skills, but attitudes, emotions and behaviours. During the course of the programme, you are almost certain to be taken out of your comfort zone and we use a range of learning activities, some more traditional, some less so, to achieve this. During the course you will challenge yourself and should expect to be challenged. By this we aim to enable you to explore strategies to meet the leadership issues that you may have at the moment, but also to give you time to reflect on your longer-term leadership development – but with both firmly rooted in the practical application of theory in the real world.
